We are grateful to the many nurseries that have devoted some of their inventory to reforesting properties in their communities. Not only do they provide the tree stock which is at an unprecedented level of demand, but they also provide the labour and tools necessary to plant the trees and ensure the highest possible survival rates. Cost-sharing will result in 142,900 trees planted this year.

Continuing the Highway of Heroes tradition of creating living legacies, Trees for Life is proud to plant trees that pay tribute to the heroes who make our communities and our country a better place for you and for all.

The Highway of Heroes Tree Campaign was completed in 2022.

The campaign planted a total of two million trees: a tree for every Canadian service person since Confederation. Of those, 117,000 trees were planted directly along the highway as a living memorial to each soldier who died during wartime.
