In 2022, we’ll begin a new partnership with the City of Edmonton. The City has identified tree-planting as one of its five transformational directions, targeting the planting of 2 million new trees by 2040. While their urban forestry department has several tree-planting programs already underway, Trees for Life will offset some of the costs and help to accelerate the pace and scale of their progress, by providing funds to plant nearly 19,000 trees. TFL is supporting the Edmonton Root for Trees volunteer planting program, as well as the urban tree canopy expansion program.
