TRCA Restoration Projects – Toronto Region, Ontario

Funding Gap: $150,000

TRCA plants over 300,000 native trees and shrubs every year in the region to restore previously degraded lands, enhance wildlife habitat, provide opportunities for community engagement, and mitigate climate change. TRCA has identified lowland forest and riparian planting opportunities at nine sites across the GTA, from the Claireville Conservation Area in the west to the Link Trail in Tommy Thompson Park in the east. Trees for Life will be funding the planting of 10,000 native trees in these areas through the TRCA. This is the second year we have invested with this partner and look forward to a long planting relationship with them!
