TFL Activities Supporting National Forest Week and National Tree Day
This is an exciting week for trees. September 20th, on the beautiful grounds of Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, will mark the start of the planting of over 600 trees in honour of Sunnybrook’s healthcare providers and in memory of those who lost their lives due to Covid-19. On National Tree Day, September 21st, we’ll be planting 100 trees at Pierre Rocque Park and Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa, in honour of those who helped the local community through the pandemic and lost their lives to Covid-19.

On Friday, June 3rd, we’ll be participating in a special ceremony at Oshawa’s Ontario Regiment Museum (ORM) to officially unveil the new 750-tree arboretum.

We are very excited about our first planting of 100,000 trees in Nova Scotia. These trees will be planted by local contractors this Fall and will be added to Nova Scotia Provincial Parks.
Ontario Regiment Museum Arboretum
In support of our sister organization, the Highway of Heroes Tree Campaign, 700 trees will be planted at the Ontario Regiment Museum in Oshawa. These 700 trees will be included in the 2 million trees being planted to honour our Canadian Armed Forces members through this campaign.
LEAF Plantings Underway in York & Durham Regions
Trees for Life is supporting the planting of over 2,500 trees and shrubs in York Region through Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests’ (LEAF) Community Tree Planting Events and their popular and successful Backyard Tree Planting Program.
Local Enhancement & Appreciation of Forests (LEAF)
This Spring, Trees for Life supported the planting of over 1,400 trees in York and Durham Regions through LEAF's Community Tree Planting and Backyard programs. Over the last 10 years, LEAF has had an 80% survival rate with their Backyard program.
