Trees for Health

Supported by Trees for Life’s, Trees for Heroes program, Trees for Health is a coalition of passionate organizations partnering with health facilities, municipalities, and conservation authorities to plant trees in honour of health workers.

Health workers are doing everything they can to keep us healthy

Let's return the favour by increasing green spaces where they work.

  • Because…

    • Balance ecosystems by creating habitats for several species including migratory birds & pollinators;

    • Will intercept and clean more than 4,400 Olympic size swimming pools of water every year;

    • Stop dangerous run-off from polluting rivers and lakes by preventing erosion & stabilizing soil;

    • purifient l’air en séquestrant plus de 550 000 tonnes de CO2 au cours des 50 premières années de leur vie;

    • Produce enough oxygen for nearly 5 million people per day

  • Research shows that access to nature and green spaces benefits our mental & physical health. This includes positive outcomes for heart rates & blood pressure, stress levels, mood & self-esteem, obesity, type 2 diabetes, postoperative recovery, birth weight, children’s cognitive development, and cardiovascular disease, plus many others.

  • A thank you to health workers is long overdue and our planet needs our help to fight climate change. We aim to pay tribute to health workers across Ontario by planting thousands of trees in their honour.

Thanks so much to these incredible health facilities and municipalities who helped us get our roots in the ground.

Studies show that access to nature and green spaces benefits our mental and physical health.

Lets give back to health workers what they’ve given us!

These plantings could not be possible without the support of our incredible partners.
