Where There is Joy

It is the second week of December, and it is highly likely that you are feeling some pressure. Plans for the end of 2022? Check. Travel during the “Holiday season”? Check. Plans to visit with friends, spend some non-work time with co-workers, thank the teacher? Check.

How about taking a moment to inject some joy into your life?

We can help you with that. I think the greatest gift we can give to ourselves this season is to give of ourselves to help others understand how much they matter to us.

Here at Trees For Life, we have an idea that I hope will inspire you this season.  We are proud to plant trees that pay tribute to the heroes who make our communities and our country a better place for everyone. These heroes include first responders, front-line & healthcare workers, military personnel, neighbours, and loved ones. You have your own list of heroes.

You can create your own living tribute to your heroes and we will help you. When you support the planting of a tree, you can say thank you to someone you admire, respect, and/or love. A Hero Tree donation of $150 or more will guarantee that it will be planted in a place where Canadians live, work, and play. We will send them a certificate that tells them what you have done, acknowledging their contribution to a better world, with a permanent, living tribute to them: a tree.

Thanks to you.

All you do is click here and follow the prompts.

I have a special holiday wish: that you will experience joy in all that you do and that the people who know you will get a lift from your kindness and thoughtfulness.

Giving a tree in the name of another person is a selfless act, by any standard. After all, the greatest environmental benefits produced by your tree will be realized most fully by people in another generation or two. And forever after that!

I cannot think of a better way to inject some joy into this special time of year.

Please accept our thanks for your continued support. I would also like to thank our staff, who work hard and smart every day to bring value to our donors and fulfill our promise to plant trees here in Canada where they are needed most. Also, my personal thanks to our volunteer board, Donna Cansfield, Joe Salemi, Jeff Olsen and Tony DiGiovanni, and volunteer advisory committee, Deborah Martin-Downs, Jeff Patterson, and Scott Wetmore. We could not do it without any one of you.

With best wishes to you and yours,

P.S. Join me in recognizing the healing power of trees. Every dollar donated between now and the end of the year will be personally matched by me and my wife Mary, up to $100,000. All donations will then be matched by the Federal government, through the 2 Billion Trees Program.

Your donation will make 4x the impact!
