Celebrate with us!
Here at Trees for Life, April is one of the most exciting months of the year; Earth Week and Arbor Day are two good reasons for this.
Not to mention, it is the second best month of the year to plant trees, after October. And plant trees we will! This is your open invitation to join us.
This spring, Trees for Life has more options for you to come out for public tree planting than ever before. We have organized four events across the greater Toronto Area on one day: Sat. April 26th. Details are here, plus more in May.
I can assure you that helping out for a couple of hours, or three, will be educational, socially engaging as you meet new friends, personally meaningful, and fun. You provide enthusiasm and muscle and we will provide everything else, including a shovel and many small, manageable trees.
What you can expect from a Trees for Life public tree planting event:
A porta potty 😊
10 minutes of instruction on ‘how to’ plant a tree
Shovel
Snacks (not a full meal)
Comradery and fun.
We recommend that you dress for the weather on that day. Our events are rain or shine, so be sure to show up if you sign up.
And please sign up! Our plans for the day rely on you telling us your intentions: after all, we want to have enough trees, shovels, and snacks for everyone.
Please bring friends and family. Kids love this experience. Just ask Tony DiGiovanni, our director whose picture graces our Case for Support and many of our communications, with his grandkids.
We look forward to seeing you, and I look forward to celebrating Earth Week with you.
Above all, Trees for Life staff look forward to THANKING you for your kind and generous support of urban tree planting, including many community Heroes in Hero Forests.
Kindly yours,
Mark Cullen
